Description

A lovely named set of British Army 1908 Pattern infantry web equipment. The set does not include the entrenching tool carrier or entrenching tool head.

No clear date is visible, but this is a very attractive untouched set which has not been heavily altered or “messed around with.”

Named to DVR Biddle, service number 196710. Unfortunately, we have been unable to positively identify Biddle from the service number alone, so it is possible that his records were among those destroyed during the 1941 bombing of the War Office records repository and therefore did not survive, even amongst the partially burnt records.

“DVR” is the abbreviation for Driver, suggesting service with either the Royal Artillery or the Army Service Corps.
