This stunning 19th-century oil painting on board features an elderly lady as the subject. Her weathered, yet spirited expression is expertly captured in vast detail. Lacking a signature and date, the artist remains a mystery, but the talent is evident. Painted over a century ago, the piece has aged gracefully, preserving its warm and subdued color palette. The style and technique evoke a strong sense of nostalgia, making this the ideal piece for admirers of historic, vintage artwork.

The label at the back is printed Thos Agnew & Sons. Research indicates that this label was only used between 1877 and 1932 from the 43 Bond Street branch and 14 Exchange Street, Manchester. The painting measures 46 cm in length and 36 cm in width, and it is in good condition.
